We offer a vast array of transport and driver training courses in Bristol at our own centre, throughout all of the UK, typically on-site at our clients for their convenience and many courses have a remote attendance option.
Many course are regulated and we are approved by a number of governing bodies, such as:

With decades of experience within the transport industry and over 20 years supporting operators and drivers we are well placed to provide your TM CPC training needs.
OAKWOOD Training Solutions’ TM classroom courses are run from Wick, Bristol (BS30) at our dedicated training centre and scheduled to coincide with NLTC examinations. The exam months are February, May, August and November each year.
OAKWOOD is a National Logistics Training Consortium approved CPC examination centre – allowing you the convenience of attending the course and sitting your examinations at the same place. NLTC are the only approved TM CPC exams in the UK that offer an Qfqual regulated qualification, adding further value to your certification.
PACKAGE OPTIONS
There are a number of options we offer our students to prepare for passing the exams:
- FULL PACKAGE – The “all inclusive” 10 day classroom-based course includes 7 days of tutor-led study, 2 days guided revision and mock exams with the 1 day of exams
- SELF-STUDY (PACK 1) – the self-study pack only (no additional support or exams included). Work at your own pace, in your own time and come back when you are ready to book your exams.
- SELF-STUDY (PACK 2) – self-study pack and exams. Work at your own pace, in your own time and sit your exams with us included – more cost-effective than separate bookings
- SELF-STUDY (PACK 3) – the self-study pack and exam fees plus 2 tutor-led classroom revision / mock exams days prior to your exams – improving your exam pass potential
- EXAM ONLY – book yourself in for your TM CPC exams at our approved examination centre
Although the choice is yours, based on UK average pass rates we highly recommend option 1’s FULL PACKAGE. The structured intense course delivered by our expert trainers face to face in a classroom for full support and guidance prepares candidates as best as possible for the exams. We don’t over-book the classrooms, with a maximum of 8 students, so our tutors have time to work with individuals in a more tailored approach than is possible with 20 students to 1 tutor.
We set structured homework and feedback along the way at each step covering all the modules of the TM CPC syllabus. In addition to the guidance our classroom based students also benefit form us providing all necessary documents to assist in the case study.
Whichever option is best for you when you book your choice OAKWOOD Training Solutions will dispatch your confirmation and joining instructions within 24 hours. Course dates, times and location will all be provided. TM CPC courses at our training centre include free on-site convenient parking, hot and cold refreshments.
Backed by our professional and industry expertise we provide a number of Transport Manager and Operator Licence holder training modules to contribute toward your Continual Professional Development (CPD) – an expectation of the Traffic Commissioners for the ongoing approval of an “O” Licence and a pro-active way to ensure remaining compliance with refreshers on regulations, best practice and complete legal compliance.
TM CPC exams
Whether you choose the home study option or attending our classroom-based 10-day course passing the exams are not easy.
Candidates are required to pass two examinations to gain their qualification. Exam 1 is multiple choice where you are required to select the correct answer of 4 possible options, of the 60 questions you must correctly answer at least 42 to achieve the 70% pass mark. You will not have access to any other material or reference guides – only the use of pen, paper and a calculator. Exam 2 is the Case Study – many of these questions will refer to a set scenario and information provided to you at the beginning of the exam, and will require you to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of rules, regulations and law. This is an open book exam and therefore candidates may use commercially available material in order to refer to industry relevant information – however time will be an important factor here. The exam will require a 50% pass mark of the available marks available and will vary for each question.
Of the two exams that must be passed statistics show it is the case study that proves the most challenging. This despite the open book element and a pass mark of only 50% is required.
This is where the classroom training and at least the revision and mock exams days with our experienced tutors can be vital in preparing students for the exams.
